September is around the corner and I had a whole blog post ready to go, listing all the reasons I am NOT as excited about my favourite month as I used to be. Once I started reading it, I realised it made no sense and kinda reminded me of a diary entry so I deleted the whole thing. Now, let’s get on with it.
Who else is jumping for joy at the thought of a routine and a new school year? Let me tell you who isn’t. Georgie, my seven year old who declared over a month ago that he does not want to go to school. Of course I completely understand what he means and why he doesn’t want to go so I’ve been reading up on separation anxiety and how I can help him deal with all the emotions that come with this change in his life.
Georgie has asked for money to buy something from the school canteen. Brand new scary territory for me, guys. So here’s my question: Do you give your child money to take to school?
I’m still tripping over the fact that Georgie put on a uniform one morning last week and is now a Primary school student… I barely got any sleep the night before and ran around like a crazy person in the morning being over-dramatic about everything and failing to take a single good photo. And then to top things off, Georgie experienced a bit of separation anxiety.
